When the 7th art comes to your room
Backed by the mk2 Nation in the 12th arrondissement, the Paradiso hotel opened its doors in March 2021. While discreet touches recall the world of the 7th art (posters, red curtains and velvet), the decoration of the 34 rooms is intentional uncluttered, nothing distinguishes them at first glance from a classic hotel . Suddenly the window disappears, giving way to a 3-meter screen which, coupled with an overhead projector and a sound system, makes it possible to reproduce the cinematographic experience. Thanks to a fully digitized journey, customers have access to the seven main VOD platforms and to a selection of feature films recommended by mk2 which changes every week, not to mention a DVD library of more than 2,000 films .
Private screening room, karaoke and rooftop terrace
Want to make it big? The hotel offers two suites including a private screening room with the possibility of viewing the films when they are released in theaters. In addition, there is a karaoke space called “La La Land” and a rooftop with bar and giant screen to make you a canvas at nightfall, while admiring the two gigantic collages made by the artist JR.
Exclusive access to mk2 Nation is offered to hotel guests. The lucky ones can rent the private box which opens directly onto one of the multiplex rooms and choose the programming themselves.
Live cinema differently
After the Cinéma Paradiso festivals at the Grand Palais in 2013 and 2015, then in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre in 2019, Nathanaël and Elisha Karmitz, son of the producer and founder of mk2 Marin Karmitz, once again offer “another idea of cinema” by reinventing the codes of the 7th art and the hotel industry. “Coming to the Paradiso hotel is to enter the living world of cinema, it is to experience a unique place in the world where cinema is a way of life.”
